International Admission Timeline

Overseas Using WilmU I-20

  1. Fill out an online application.
  2. Submit all documents EXCEPT for I-20, I-94, visa and U.S. transcripts.
  3. International Staff will confirm eligibility and send the embassy packet to the student’s email.
  4. Student schedules a visa interview at a U.S. embassy.
  5. Student submits visa and I-20 showing WilmU was the school used to get the visa.
  6. Copy of I-94 must be submitted upon arrival in the U.S.
  7. Student is able to enroll in first courses.
  8. Student must complete orientation.
  9. Wait until the end of drop/add.
  10. Continued Attendance I-20 will be sent to the student's email, as long as the student has provided a U.S. address and phone number and the student is fully enrolled.
  11. Any unofficial transcripts or evaluations must be submitted officially within two semesters.

Overseas Using Another I-20

  1. Fill out an online application.
  2. Submit all documents EXCEPT for U.S. transcripts.
  3. International Staff will confirm eligibility and send Transfer Letters to the student’s email.
  4. Student is able to enroll in first courses.
  5. Student must complete orientation.
  6. Wait until the end of drop/add.
  7. Continued Attendance I-20 will be sent to student email as long as the student has provided a U.S. address; the student has had their SEVIS record released to WilmU; the student is fully enrolled.
  8. Any unofficial transcripts or evaluations must be submitted officially within two semesters.

Transferring from Inside the U.S.

  1. Fill out an online application.
  2. Submit all documents.
  3. International Staff will confirm eligibility and send Transfer Letters to the student’s email.
  4. Student is able to enroll in first courses.
  5. Student must complete orientation.
  6. Wait until the end of drop/add.
  7. Continued Attendance I-20 will be sent to student email as long as the student has provided a U.S. address; the student has had their SEVIS record released to WilmU; the student is fully enrolled.
